How To Cook Breadfruit
1.
first
wash your breadfruit as show in the previous post http://roselights1.blogspot.com.ng/2017/12/how-to-get-dry-fruit-ready-for-cooking.html
2.
put
it inside a pot
3.
pour
water into it to a quantity above the breadfruit level in the pot
4.
put
on your cooker (either stove, or gas, or hot plate, or fire wood, etc)
5.
Allow
it to cook for 25 minutes for normal breadfruit or 45 minutes for soaked dry
breadfruit.
6.
Add
ash (soaked and sieved) or potash (akawun)
7.
Stir
with wood spoon
8.
Continue
to cook for some minutes till its soft to your taste/desire.
NB: always add water at
every stage the water dries below the breadfruit level even when it’s ready.
For Jellof Breadfruit
1.
Follow
the procedures above
2.
Sieve
the water into another pot or plate, remaining small in the breadfruit
3.
Add
some breadfruit to the water
4.
Put
the breadfruit back on fire
5.
Add
washed bitter leaf, fish (dry or fresh or ice), meat (cut in pieces if you
like)
6.
Cook
for 3 minutes
7.
Add
salt, ogiri igbo(ogiri in Igbo language), little spice, pepper, small crayfish,
and red oil
8.
Stir
thoroughly, off your cooker, your food is ready.
